These belts are made out of retired climbing rope. Climbing ropes are only considered safe to climb on for about a year, so they typically still look brand new when they are thrown out. Ropes that would otherwise be thrown out by climbers all around the country are given a new life as belts. All belts will have stitching, not rivets.
